Dr. Kenneth Byrd

Dr. J. Kenneth Byrd was awarded an intramural grant for his project “The Effects of Chemotherapy on Gastrostomy Site Healing”, and was a guest speaker at the annual meeting of the Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Nurses in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Byrd was also featured in the news for using endoscopic techniques to successfully, and with minimal morbidity, remove a large esthesioneuroblastoma in a 17 year old female patient. The patient and family were ecstatic with the results as they previously thought the patient’s eye would have to be resected. Read the article here.

 

Dr. Michael Groves

Dr. Michael Groves was elected to the AUMA Board of Directors, and was in the news for successfully managing the head and neck cancer of a 91 year old patient who loves to dance and be merry. Dr. William Carroll

Dr. William Carroll was featured in the news for removing a rare vallecular cyst from a 3 week old baby. The cyst was causing airway obstruction requiring a tracheostomy. The tracheostomy is now removed and the child is growing at a healthy and normal rate. You can read the article here.

 

 

 

Dr. Gregory Postma

Dr. Gregory Postma was the keynote speaker at the European Laryngologic Society Dysphagia Workshop in Helsinki, Finland, and a guest speaker at the Fall Voice Conference in Dallas, TX.
